Three institutions create the Łukasiewicz – Łódź Institute of Technology

On April 1, 2022, the Łukasiewicz – Łódź Technological Institute was created in Łódź from the merger of three institutes belonging to the Łukasiewicz Research Network: the Institute of Biopolymers and Chemical Fibers, the Institute of Leather Industry and the Institute of Textiles.

The establishment of the Łukasiewicz – Łódź Institute of Technology is the result of a strategy pursued consistently for 3 years, with the aim to create strong Łukasiewicz institutes able to respond to the challenges of the global economy. “The unique and complete offer of the Łódź institute means new opportunities to obtain international grants and foreign business partners for projects that will result in modern technologies implemented in Polish companies”, said Piotr Dardziński, president of the Łukasiewicz Research Network.

After the merger of the Łódź organizations, the Łukasiewicz Research Network has 26 institutes, over 7.500 employees. The research infrastructure of the Network consists of 440 laboratories and nearly 4,000 key research and development equipment.
