Three researchers from the Wrocław University of Life Sciences awarded scholarships under the Bekker programme

Three researchers at the Wrocław University of Life Sciences have won scholarships from the Bekker programme organised by the National Agency for Academic Exchange. They have won more than half a million zlotys for their projects.

Professor Aleksandra Mirończuk will spend a year in Spain as part of the scholarship, where she will study the ability of microorganisms to degrade various types of plastics.

Estera Trzcina, together with a team of Portuguese scientists, will work on better forecasting of violent phenomena using satellite radar interferometry (InSAR) technology.

Dr Luca Demarchi has won a scholarship to travel to Australia. The project, conducted with the Centre for Crop Science at the University of Queensland, is to determine the physiological characteristics of plants using hyperspectral remote sensing.

The Bekker Fellowship supports the international mobility of PhD students, researchers and academics to develop scientifically in overseas research and academic centres.
