08.07.2021

Gdańsk University of Technology and Gdynia Maritime University have concluded an agreement on the joint creation and management of an inter-university, unique MA study program: Offshore Wind Energy.

The creation of a new study is in line with the implementation of the objectives set out in the Act on the Promotion of Electricity Generation in Offshore Wind Farms, which is key to Poland’s commitments to achieve the climate goals, on both European and national levels, expressed in the Polish Energy Policy until 2040. By 2030 the share of renewable energy sources in the electricity sector should be at least 32 percent. – at least twice as much as today.

Graduates of Offshore Wind Energy will obtain advanced general technical and navigational knowledge as well as skills necessary in the design, construction, renovation, operation, cooperation with the grid and maintenance of marine and coastal energy facilities and their technical subsystems.
