Polish Television (TVP) is planning to launch the TVP Nauka channel in September 2022. The TV station announced it in its 2020 report, which was presented to the National Court Register. 

TVP is assuming in the document that the decision to establish TVP Nauka was preceded by research and analysis of available reports indicating that “scientific, technical and natural topics, which are directly forming the content of the future channel, are considered necessary by a significant percentage of viewers”.

TVP Nauka will broadcast content related to exact sciences, including astronomy, mathematics, chemistry and physics, earth sciences, ecology and medicine.

The new channel will be managed by Robert Szaj, who in 2020 became TVP’s management board representative for the launch of TVP Nauka. Robert Szaj is a promoter of astronomy, the owner of the observatory in Truszczyny. From March 2016 to May 2017, he was the president of the company Energa Wytwarzanie.
