Two ARTIQ – Centres of Excellence AI will be created in Kraków

The results of the 1st Competition within the ARTIQ – Centres of Excellence AI Joint Undertaking implemented by the National Centre for Research and Development together with the National Science Centre have been announced. Of the seven received applications, two were positively evaluated and recommended for funding. 

ARTIQ – AI Centres of Excellence will be established at the Jagiellonian University (UJ) in Kraków and the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Kraków. 

The UJ project ‘Multimodal learning and reinforcement learning platform for individualisation of oncology care’ will receive nearly PLN 20 million and the AGH project ‘Integration of inference, learning, optimisation and interpretation for accelerated commercialisation of next-generation smart software systems’ will receive PLN 19 million 550 thousand.

The aim of the ARTIQ competition, piloted jointly by the National Centre for Research and Development and the National Science Centre, is to strengthen Poland’s potential in the area of artificial intelligence research and the application of its results in practice.
