Two scientific majors of the University of Wrocław received the A + category

The University of Wrocław (UWr) has received decisions on awarding scientific categories for the majors. The university was awarded two categories A +, eight categories A and fifteen categories B +. This means that the University of Wrocław is authorized to confer doctoral and postdoctoral degrees in all majors.

The evaluation assessed the research work in 2017-2021. The highest scientific category A + was awarded to the disciplines of computer science and history, category A was awarded to archeology, legal sciences, astronomy, psychology, literary studies, medical sciences, biomedical engineering and mathematics.

Majors were assessed in terms of the scientific level, financial effects of research and development works, and the impact of scientific activity on the functioning of society and the economy. The highest A + rating was awarded by the Science Evaluation Committee only to units whose activity is comparable to that of leading European research centers and appreciated abroad.
