University of Gdańsk to hold a conference Great world religions in language and culture

The Department of Russian Language and Translation Studies and the Department of Pragmatics of Communication and Didactics of the Russian Language at the University of Gdańsk are the organizers of the 3rd International Scientific Conference “Great world religions in language and culture. Christianity. Judaism: A Shared Heritage” which be held on November 17-18.

Launched in 2018, the conference series aims to present the impact of the world’s great religions on the languages and culture of individual nations of the world. This year’s meeting is devoted to the common heritage of two great monotheistic religions – Christianity and Judaism, which are present in the language and culture of individual ethnic groups and nations in Europe.

Philologists, ethnographers and theologians from Poland and abroad are invited to participate in the conference. They present their research on the interaction of Christianity and Judaism at the linguistic and cultural level. The working languages of the conference are Polish, Russian and Ukrainian.
