The University of Life Sciences in Wrocław has become a partner of the international BECoop project, implemented under Horizon 2020. The project aims to entrust communities with responsibility for the local production of bioenergy, informs the university.

The project aims to make community bioenergy projects more attractive to potential stakeholders and to foster new ties and partnerships between the international bioenergy community. The project will investigate and identify facilitators and barriers to entry into the bioenergy market and, based on this information, will enable policymakers to further introduce a framework favorable to energy communities.

The project is participated by the Oborniki Śląskie, commune adjacent to the city of Wrocław, interested in the development of the local energy market based on renewable sources and the increase of social responsibility for the local natural environment.
