Located in the Electron Microscopy Laboratory opened at the University of Rzeszów, the transmission electron microscope, along with a complete preparation line, is the first equipment of its kind in Poland.

The Rzeszów University emphasises that the equipment, which is small in size compared to conventional TEM (transmission electron microscopy) microscopes, is a tool of enormous potential.

It is characterised by a unique and lower accelerating voltage range, which translates into naturally high contrast of the observed samples, and also enables users to reduce the amount of staining (often hazardous to health and the environment) used not only for sensitive samples, but also in standard sample preparation protocols.

Electron microscopy observations are used to analyse the basic elements of cellular structure and their changes in a range of magnifications not possible with optical microscopy.
