University of Warsaw to apply for medical faculty

The Rector of the University of Warsaw (UW), Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, has submitted an application to the Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, for permission to establish and launch a single master’s degree programme with an all-academic profile in medicine at the University of Warsaw in the 2023/2024 academic year.

The submitted application was prepared by the teams involved in designing the commencement of medical education: Medical Infrastructure Team and the Team for the development of the curriculum for the medical faculty. 

The work of both teams was supervised by the UW Vice-Rector for Students and Quality of Education – Dr Sławomir Żółtek, Prof. UW. Their work was coordinated by Prof. Zbigniew Izdebski, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Discipline of Pedagogy, who at the same time became Chairman of the Team for the Development of the Study Programme. The Chair of the Medical Infrastructure Team was the Acting UW Chancellor Robert Grey. Administrative support for both teams was provided by the Office of Didactic Innovation, together with representatives of the Centre for Didactic Support designated by the Vice-Chancellor for Students and Quality of Education.
