The Institute of Polish Philology of the University of Wrocław is inviting participants to the VII World Congress of Polish Studies from October 20-23. The online congress will be held under the slogan “World Polish Studies – Archives and the Present”. Applications will be accepted until April 30th.

The topics of the Congress are related to the use of archives – including modern digital archives – for research, as well as the issues of multilingualism, migration and translations into foreign languages.

The organizers are planning to discuss: secret, declassified, private and lost archives, lost and inaccessible; literary and linguistic archives as cultural heritage; digital resources as a source of research materials (e.g. spoken and written texts); the Polish language of generations of migrants – the loss and recovery of the Polish language in the conditions of migration and Polish heritage scattered around the world – description and characteristics as sources of knowledge about Polish culture.
