Dr Maciej Duszczyk, Vice-Rector of the University of Warsaw (UW) for scientific affairs, became the new chairman of the Scientific Policy Committee.
The unanimous choice was made during the inaugural meeting of Committee, which took place on June 9 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
The Scientific Policy Committee is an opinion-making and advisory body to the Minister of Science and Higher Education. Its tasks include giving opinions on documents presented by the minister and the plans of activities of the National Science Center and National Center for Research and Development, as well as preparing assessments of reports on their activities. The Committee also evaluates the implementation of the state’s science policy.
