World’s first perovskite solar cell factory established in Wrocław

27.05.2021

The world’s first perovskite solar cell factory, Saule Technologies, has started its production in Wrocław. Due to their unique properties, perovskite cells will find application wherever traditional silicon cells have no chance to be applied.

The technology invented by the founder of Saule Technologies, Polish physicist Olga Malinkiewicz, is an innovative photovoltaic cell that allows users to generate energy from both the sun and artificial light, which allows them to be used literally everywhere – from price labels, through building facades, to satellites in space.

The Saule Technologies factory covers an area of approximately 5 thousand square meters. Currently, the first production line is located here. It transfers all laboratory processes with their simultaneous automation. It produces photovoltaic perovskite modules for use in Internet of Things devices.
