“Ola, Boris and new friends” is a fairy tale that tell children from Ukraine about a new reality. The story was created by 20 specialists of various disciplines from the University of Wrocław and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (SWPS) who came up with the idea of writing it.

The fairy tale “Ola, Boris and new friends” was created for children in preschool and early school age who were forced to leave Ukraine due to the outbreak of the war. The heroes of the fairy tale find their way to Poland and although they do not feel confident at first, the people and situations help them start to feel safer and behave bolder and bolder.

“This fairy tale has two goals. First of all, we want to give a gift to the children who come to us. It is a sign that they are welcome here. Secondly, the fairy tale is supposed to help kids in the new reality, to show that it is not as terrible as they think”, says one of the authors of the fairy tale, Prof. Dariusz Galasiński from the University of Wrocław.
