Wrocław students working on a retention system in the building’s facade

16.10.2020

The scientific research group Humanization of the Urban Environment of the Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology is working out a new system of retention, which can be installed in the building facade. It is supposed to be a cheap, ecological and aesthetic solution that will allow to collect and reuse rainwater. The system will be an element of the building facade.

The result of the students’ work is to be a prototype of a retention system, which is used to catch water from rain and fog, collect, purify and re-use it, e.g. for watering plants during prolonged periods without rains.

The team working on the project includes students of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Technology, the University of Life Sciences of Plant Medicine and the University of Wrocław in the field of Environmental Management. The group is also looking for people interested in joining the research on water purification processes and designing the flow system.
