Wrocław University of Science and Technology develops Intelligent transport robot

25.06.2020

Engineers of the mechanical faculty of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology have created INTRO – an intelligent transporting robot. Customers not only in Poland are already interested in the new robot for transporting materials in the warehouses of companies from the e-commerce industry.

Researchers from the university together with the Lean-Tech, company offering internal transport systems and Softalo- a producer of industrial automation software, obtained funding from the Intelligent Development Operational Program for the project “Robotic system of intelligent internal transport”.

INTRO – robot will be able to lift a load weighing about 1.5 tons thanks to the forks sliding out of its body and transport it without human assistance and no additional infrastructure. It will be equipped with two 3D cameras, two standard cameras and laser scanners installed in three places, which will allow to move safely in any direction and detect every obstacle on its way.
