Wrocław University of Science and Technology to launch a unique laboratory

28.07.2020

The Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology is launching a unique laboratory for infrared spectroscopic measurements. Thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the laboratory will receive modern equipment that will allow for close cooperation with companies from the optoelectronics industry.

The Ministry has granted PLN 2 million for the purchase of unique equipment that will support the existing Laboratory of Optical Spectroscopy of Nanostructures. The equipment will include widely tunable pulsed laser, monochromator equipped with appropriate diffraction gratings and a detector with high spectral sensitivity.

Thanks to this, it will be possible to perform time-resolved measurements by means of experiments such as the photoluminescence signal decay test and the pump-probe method. The equipment will enable the study of low-dimensional structures intended for medium and long-wave infrared emitters and detectors.
