Researchers from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology want to find out what physiological and psychological reactions accompany us during experienced emotions. This is the first research of its kind in the world”.

The Emognition research team is made up of scientists from the Faculty of Computer Science and Telecommunications, who want to investigate the relationship between our physiology and the emotions we experience. The study involves wearing wearable devices for physiological measurements, e.g. smartwatches, fitbands and chest bands, which will collect data on reactions accompanying everyday events.

Data will therefore be collected on, for example, heart rate levels and related to emotionally evocative situations. Approximately 250 people will take part in the programme. Monthly data will be collected from a group of 25-30 volunteers. The project is being carried out under a grant from the National Science Centre and with the approval of the Bioethics Committee.
