Young scientists from Wrocław University of Science and Technology on their way to foreign internships

Three scientists from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology have become winners of the Mieczysław Bekker scholarship programme. The young researchers will carry out scientific projects and postdoctoral internships at universities in France, Switzerland and the UK, reports the University of Technology.

Dr Eng. Paulina Peksa will go to the French National Laboratory of High Magnetic Fields in Toulouse She will carry out a project there ‘New low-dimensional perovskite structures as white light emitters’.

Dr Eng. Konrad Gruber will carry out his internship at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland. He will conduct research as part of the project ‘Understanding the influence of carbides and twin boundaries on the micro-mechanical properties of an incrementally fabricated and heat-treated nickel-based superalloy’.

Dr Eng. Justyna Rogacka will spend 24 months on a research placement at the University of Manchester in the UK. She will be joining Prof. Sihai Yang and Prof Martin Schröeder’s international team working in the area of materials chemistry.
