Bishop, Prof. Tadeusz Pieronek will hold a lecture under the title “State and the Church” on the 17th of April at the University of Warsaw. The meeting will be organized in the series “8 lectures for the New Millennium”.

Tadeusz Pieronek is a professor of legal sciences, a Roman Catholic priest, he was the auxiliary bishop of the Sosnowiec diocese and the secretary general of the Polish Episcopate Conference. In the years 1998-2004 he was the rector of the Pontifical Academy of  Theology in Krakow. He is the laureate of many decorations, including Cross of the Great Order of Polonia Restituta.

A few years ago, in one of the interviews, bishop Pieronek said: “The church is not a national institution. Politicians use it for their needs, some defend it, others attack it, because they have chosen it as their goal. They should first know what the Church is for, and do not invent it for their own use.”
