Center of Modern Technologies of the University of Toruń allowed to operate commercially

15.11.2018

The interdisciplinary Center for Modern Technologies of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń was allowed for the economic use of research infrastructure. It means the possibility of conducting commercial activities in the field of basic research, industrial research and development.

Non-profit research activities were launched at the Center in 2013. Due to the fact that the construction of the unit was co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund, commercial works have so far been excluded due to the lack of appropriate regulations.

Now the Center will be able to commercially use its infrastructure to 20 percent of its total annual performance. It will be able to offer paid research services and to rent its laboratories for research and development works financed by R&D institutions, business and individuals.
