Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Science and Higher Education Jarosław Gowin took part in the Days of the University of Economics in Krakow (UEK) held on May 28, 2019.

Opening the ceremony, the rector of the Krakow University Prof. UEK Dr Eng. Andrzej Chochół quoted Barack Obama: „Today, more than ever before, science seems to be the key to survival. Both for our world and for ourselves as a nation and for our well-being and security. The time has come for us to treat science as one of the most important areas of life.”

During the speech, the rector also drew attention to the importance of science and inventiveness for the development of humanity. In his opinion, “though development is inscribed in human nature, it has never been as intense in contemporary history as it is today”.
