Extraordinary Congress of Polish Physicists for the 100th anniversary of the Polish Physical Society to be held in April

The Extraordinary Congress of Polish Physicists will be held in Warsaw on April 24-26, 2020 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Polish Physical Society (PTF). The congress is supported by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Science and Higher Education Jarosław Gowin.

The aim of the Congress is to show the achievements of Polish physics and its importance for the development of Poland over the 100 years of PTF.

The congress will last three days. The first day will be devoted to the historical perspective of the Polish physics in the past century and will take place in the historical Building of Physics at the Warsaw University of Technology.

The second day of the Congress will be devoted to the present day. Physicists will move to the modern building of the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw. There, the authors of the most spectacular achievements of physics in Poland, and at the same time outstanding science popularizers will talk in an accessible way about their research.

The third day of the congress will be a celebration of teachers. Outstanding Polish specialists will discuss the history of teaching physics.
