French Institute in Poland to launch a competition “My doctorate in 180 seconds”

Until February 20, students can submit applications to the competition “My doctorate in 180 seconds” organized by the French Institute in Poland. The participants’ task will be a three-minute presentation of their work in French.

The competition has been organized since 2012 and takes place today in nearly 30 countries. It is an opportunity for PhD students to present their scientific work to a wide audience, explaining a complicated issue in a simple way. The competition include all fields of science, from mathematics to literature, through biology or architecture.

The participants have 180 seconds for their performance in French, and they can use only one slide. The most understandable and convincing person wins the main prize. The organizers emphasize, that a sense of humor is also welcome. Polish national games will take place in March in Warsaw, the Central European final is scheduled for the end of May in Krakow.
