Gdańsk University of Technology to hold a conference „Miсroplastiсs – a big problem?”

14.02.2019

The Open University of Technology invites participants on February 21 to the Courtyard of Hevelius in the Main Building of the Gdańsk University of Technology for the first meeting of the #CiekawiNauki program: “Microplastics – the risks associated with them and the quality of water and ways to improve it”.

– We encounter the problem of microplastics when shopping or opening a plastic bottle of water. Our cities also deal with that by eliminating potential sources of microplastics and proper treatment of sewage and rainwater.

Invited experts will also answer the questions which everyday products contain the most harmful substances, what effect plants have on rainwater purification and how to protect themselves from toxins in everyday life.

The program #CiekawiNauki is a new initiative of the Gdańsk University of Technology. Monthly meetings with experts will bring closer the current problems of science and the modern world in an accessible form and in a pleasant atmosphere.
