– This is the biggest reform in science since 1989. We showed in divided Poland that we can deeply reform the state in the atmosphere of understanding and respect for different opinions. The Act broadens the autonomy of the university, it introduces a number of mechanisms that in a few years will improve the level of academic education. The level of research will also increase. We have created a solid financial base for this law – said Jarosław Gowin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education, in his interview for Radio Krakow.

He emphasized that the part of the funds will be allocated to the universities in the form of state treasury bonds and can be used only for investments. Out of nearly PLN 3 billion, more than PLN 400 million will be received by the universities in Małopolska Region.
– Universities are already attracting foreign students. The Act will start the process of the opening of Polish universities to lecturers from abroad. We have already teachers from France, Italy and Spain at our universities – added Gowin.
