The drone, constructed by the High Flyers team, took the fifth place in the international UAV Challenge Medical Express competition in Australia. The team of the Silesian University of Technology turned out to be the best European team.

The competition included designing and building an unmanned aircraft that had to carry out a search and rescue mission. The drone had to provide blood samples of the patient from the remote outland spot to the laboratory in the most autonomous way. It had to cover a distance of 44.5 km, avoiding forbidden areas.

UAV Challenge Medical Express is one of the most well-known and prestigious competitions in the field of autonomously controlled unmanned flying systems. It is organized by the University of Queensland and the Australian Institute for Research and Development. The competition is supported by Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and Boeing, and the Department of Defense of Australia.
