Professor Włodzimierz Borodziej from the Historical Institute of the University of Warsaw and Dr hab. Maciej Górny from the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences became the laureates of the “Historical Book of the Year” competition, for the book “Our war. Volume 2, Nations 1917-1923”.

The publication is a monograph of the First World War, with particular emphasis on the role of Poland in these events. The second volume discusses the context of the collapse of the powers and the process of formation of nation states.

The “Historical Book of the Year” competition was established by the Polish Historical Society. The award is granted for the best scientific publications in the field of history without division into epochs and specialties, which in the opinion of the historical scientists represented by the Directors of History Institutes deserves recognition because of its scientific value.
