On July 19, 2018, the Regulation of the Minister of Health entered into force increasing the number of places in medical studies in the academic year 2018/2019. The limit of places in the medical field will amount to 7846.

According to the regulation, the largest increase in the number of places will take place in master’s studies in Polish with 4,678 places. The aim of the changes is to eliminate staff shortages in the Polish health service through the gradual increase of the number of students in the medical and dentistry faculties.
