23.03.2018

The cooperation with China will be discussed by scientists and students of the University of Silesia. The conference “New Silk Road – geopolitics, economy, culture” is scheduled for Tuesday, March 27 at the Center for Scientific Information and the Academic Library.

The discussion will take place within four panels: “China’s Geopolitics in the 21st Century”; “Pivot to the Pacific – the future relations of the West countries and China”; “The New Silk Road – a chance for the region or the threat of Chinese domination?” And “Europe, Intermarium, USA or China – potential strategic alliances of Poland”.

The panelists will try to answer the question whether the Chinese plan to rebuild the old trade route means only benefits. They will pay attention to the opportunities and threats related to Chinese investments and the economic and political expansion of the Middle Kingdom.
The event is organized by the Regional Center for International Debate in Katowice, the Institute of Political Sciences and Journalism and the Culture and Law Society of the University of Silesia.
