11.12.2019

Dr Małgorzata Gębka-Wolak, Prof. of The Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń received a grant from the National Agency for Academic Exchange in the competition “Promotion of the Polish language” for the implementation of the project “Polish Language Days in Kaliningrad. Art and philosophy”.

The project aims to promote the Polish language and knowledge of Polish history and culture in the Russian-speaking environment by organizing popularizing events taking place during the week in Kaliningrad, which will thematically refer to the artistic and scientific heritage of two patrons of the year 2020 appointed by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland: the painter Teodor Axentowicz and philosopher Roman Ingarden.

The result of the program will be to deepen knowledge of Polish culture and encourage students to study Polish at the Nicolaus Copernicus University. The project will contribute to developing a positive image of Poland in a neighboring country and will support the quality of teaching Polish at a partner university.
