Opole’s Fraunhofer design center receives additional financing

03.10.2018

The Fraunhofer Design Center for Advanced Light Technologies at the Opole University of Technology acquired further funds for research and implementation. The money comes from the Regional Operational Program and is the result of the extension of funding for science in the Opole region.

The fund will be used to equip the IT laboratory, to provide research of innovative materials and their assessment in terms of impact on the environment (including by accelerating their aging). New devices on which researchers will develop light technologies will go to the Univeristy and the Opole Science and Technology Park.

– The Fraunhofer Institute license attracts like a magnet – says the rector of the University of Technology, Prof. Marek Tukiendorf and adds that 90 companies are already interested in the project, and the creation of the center is the greatest achievement in the entire history of the university.
