On June 8, 2019, scientists from the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) will organize a large laboratory in Olsztyn Old Town. Participants will be able to take a “selfie” using neural networks and examine the fuels of our brain. The Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Olsztyn together with the Municipal Cultural Center are organizing a family picnic “Science is also art”.

The organizers invited scientists from other institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences who will reveal the secrets of their research. Visitors will make microscopic and macroscopic preparations of parasites, carry out experiments in an outdoor chemical laboratory and check the electrical activity of their brain.

They will also learn how extraterrestrial minerals look, how the craters are created and whether we are threatened by space disasters. With the help of biologists, they will look closely at Masurian zooplankton, and archaeologists will reveal the secrets of ancient civilizations. Everyone will be able to try their the ceramic-weaving “Rubik’s cube”.
