Polish-Chinese project of chemists from Toruń and Nanjing

13.06.2018

Chemists from the University of Toruń and Nanjing Tech University will jointly implement the project “Novel mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) for the separation of liquid and gas mixtures”.

On the Chinese side, the project will be led by Dr. Jin Wanqin from Nanjing Tech University, from the Polish side by Prof. Wojciech Kujawski. The Torun scientist deals with applications of membrane techniques, especially the separation of gases and vapors (which may be used, for example, in the extraction of shale gas), and pervaporation allowing the separation of liquid mixtures that cannot be separated by distillation (used in the production of biofuels).

Professor Kujawski is also the coordinator of another project concerning innovative polymer membranes carried out together with the French University of Rouen, he also managed the Polish-Austrian project “Experimental and theoretical research on the mechanism of transport of organic solvents through membranes”.
