Polish scientists win the NORFACE network competition

Four research teams from Poland have won a competition organized by the NORFACE network (New Opportunities for Research Funding Agency Co-operation in Europe). According to the National Science Center, this year 207 international research applications were submitted in the “Democratic governance in a turbulent age” competition. 14 projects received funding of over EUR 17.8 million.

The winning projects, implemented with the participation of research teams from Poland include:
CrimScapes: Navigating citizenship in European criminalization landscapes. Head of the Polish team: Dr Agata Dziuban, Jagiellonian University.

UNDPOLAR: Sense of danger, group identification and split: understanding and attempting to modify attitudes related to political polarization in European democracies. Head of the Polish team: Dr Marta Marchlewska, Institute of Psychology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

THREATPIE: Threats and opportunities related to changes in the political information environment. Head of the Polish team: Prof. Agnieszka Stępińska, University of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan.

POPBACK: Populist movement, withdrawal of liberal democracy and the crisis of a law state in the European Union. Head of the Polish team: Prof. Barbara Maria Błaszczyk, Institute of Economics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
