10.07.2019

The PoliWrocket team from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology took the fourth place in its category in the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition. At the competition in New Mexico, young constructors made their debut with the “Ninety-Nine” – a rocket weighing 16 kg (without fuel) and measuring 3.1 m.

The most important task was to rise to the height of 10,000. feet – 3048 m. For each meter more or less the teams lost points. The time of the documentation provided and the technical project as well as the correctness of the flight were also assessed as well as the distance from the designated height and the recovery phase of the rocket.

PoliWrocket scored the most points for the “design implementation”, i.e. technical solutions and reports sent before the competition itself. The team consists of students of mechanical, mechanical and energy, computer science and management, electronics, chemical and basic technical problems faculties, and student of the Academic Secondary School.
