Researcher at the Jagiellonian University wins the prize of the Art Historians Association

Dr. Dobrosława Horzela from the Institute of Art History at the Jagiellonian University (Jagiellonian University) in Krakow has been awarded the Prof. Jerzy Łoziński’s prize granted by the Association of Art Historians.

She received the honorable award for her scientific work on the history of Polish art, with particular emphasis on documentary and cataloging work and for the book: “Die mittelalterlichen Glasmalereien in der Stadtpfarrkirche Mariä Himmelfahrt in Krakau.” Mit einer kunstgeschichtlichen Einleitung von Marek Walczak”.

This research is devoted to stained glass windows in the St. Mary’s church in Kraków, one of the most important urban churches in Central Europe. Stained-glass windows were created at the end of the reign of Casimir the Great and in the initial period of the reign of the Jagiellonians and they are the largest set of stained-glass painting in Poland.
