Researcher Prof. Gryko published in Angewandte Chemie

11.10.2018

Prof. Daniel Gryko from the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, laureate of the Foundation for Polish Science 2017, published the results of his research in the Angewandte Chemie Journal.

The research was conducted in cooperation with the team of Prof. Valentine Vullev (University of California, Riverside). Scientists have demonstrated for the first time that the molecule of an organic dye can completely stop the transfer of an electron in one direction using molecular electrical dipoles (so-called electrets). At the same time, moving the electron in the opposite direction is very fast.

The discovery of professors Gryko and Vullev can potentially accelerate research on the conversion of light into electricity in modern technologies.
