While working in the archives of the Jesuit monastery in Kłodzko, scientists from the Institute of Art History at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków discovered priceless medieval documents including papal bulls and documents related to indulgences.

According to Dr. Michał Kurzej from the Institute of Art History at the Jagiellonian University, this is one of the most valuable collections found out of the state archives in central Europe.

Several dozen medieval parchment documents have been preserved here including a lot of materials concerning the history of the region. This is a priceless material for research on the history of the Kłodzko Valley – adds Dr. Kurzej.

Currently, the archive is described and cataloged. Then the conservators and historians will start their work.
