Researchers from the University of Silesia receive prizes from the Minister of Science and Higher Education

Scientists of the University of Silesia became the winners of the awards of the Minister of Science and Higher Education. Prestigious awards are granted every year for outstanding individual and collective scientific and didactic achievements and organizational successes.

The award for lifetime achievement in science, didactics and organization was received by Prof. Marian Paluch, head of the Department of Biophysics and Molecular Physics. The laureate works on high-pressure techniques in the study of molecular dynamics in condensed matter, charge in ionic liquids, phase transitions and crystallization kinetics.

Dr Mariola Jabłońska, the head of the University Atmosphere Control Laboratory (ULKA), was awarded for organizational achievements. Her design is used to study air quality and sources and directions of pollution movement. ULKA is a mobile laboratory placed in the balloon basket and stationary laboratories for atmospheric research.
