Scientists from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences researching cancer

20.08.2018

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) launched the Król Lab, in which scientists will conduct cancer research for 5 years. This has been made possible by the grant of the European Research Council in the amount of EUR 1.4 million, which in 2016 was awarded to Dr Magdalena Król, Prof. Warsaw Agricultural University.

The research conducted in the Król Lab laboratory is aimed at explaining the biological phenomenon discovered by Prof. Magdalena Król. Thanks to many years of scientific work related to cancer research, she discovered that certain cells of the immune system give cancer cells a specific group of proteins. This mechanism may probably be used in oncological practice for the precise delivery of cancer-destroying drugs directly to the tumor.
