The invention developed by scientists from the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Materials Science at the Warsaw University of Technology in cooperation with the company POLSPORT S.A. was awarded a silver medal during the International Exhibition of Injuries of Geneva 2018.

As Warsaw University of Technology informs, the jury awarded the protectors that use Shear Thickening Fluids technology (STF). The main advantage of such fluids is that they are flexible, and under the influence of rapid pressure or hit they rapidly harden and become very strong.
The team of over a dozen people working on the invention was headed by Prof. Eng. Mikołaj Szafran, Prof. Eng. Gabriel Rokicki and Prof. Eng. Marcin Leonowicz.
