Students of the inter-university faculty of biotechnology of the University of Gdańsk and the Medical University of Gdańsk, founders of the Biolumo company, received one of three awards in the category “Innovative Idea” during the 23rd International Congress of the Open System of Health Protection in Katowice.

Olga Grudniak and Marcin Pitek were awarded the title of Health Protection Leaders. At the congress, they presented the design of the device for immediate determining which antibiotic will work for a particular patient. The jury appreciated their idea emphasizing the importance of the imprecise antibiotic therapy as one of the key challenges of modern medicine.

Earlier, the Biolumo project was awarded in the final of the InfoShare 2017 competition, it was also appreciated by the Startupbootcamp Digital Health accelerator in Berlin and by the magazine “The Journal of mHealth” placing the company on the 100 Global Digital Health list.
