The Foundation for Polish Science has announced the results of the TEAM-NET competition. Co-financing for a total amount of over PLN 105 million will be allocated for five projects.

Within the TEAM-NET competition, scientific organizations could obtain grants to create a network of collaborative research teams conducting interdisciplinary research. From 39 projects submitted for the competition, five projects that received the highest number of points have been awarded.

The TEAM-NET competition was won by the Medical University of Lodz for its project entitled “We will cure neutropenia (FIXNET)”. Its aim is to develop methods for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases associated with neutrophil dysfunction, i.e. white blood cells responsible for the proper functioning of the human immune system. The project will be implemented by a consortium of three academic centers. The amount of PLN 23 million will allow the university to create a network of five research teams working together to solve the problem.
