11.07.2019

Underwater robot ROV 4.0 developed by members of the Robocik scientific club operating at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology is ready to take part in international competitions in the USA. ROV 4.0 can detect obstacles of one centimeter and has a six-torpedo launcher.

ROV 4.0 is the fourth and most advanced construction that was created at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. It has a cylindrical structure, which allowed to increase the depth of immersion up to 100 meters. The frame is made of plastic, the constructors have installed an extensive vision system and added a manipulator for precise underwater work.

During the competition in San Diego, the robot will have to float in the pool using colorful markers and ultrasound transmitters placed on the bottom of the pool, lift openwork cubic structure and drop it into a marked container and open a small container and bring out the element from inside.
