27.09.2018

The Faculty of Wood Technology at the University of Life Sciences in Poznań coordinates the international research and implementation of the project BaltSe@nioR, whose aim is to encourage designers and enterprises to create and produce furniture that improve the comfort and safety of older people.

In a group of 25 countries with the oldest populations, 23 are in Europe. European societies are aging to an unprecedented rate, and thus they become a new and growing group of consumers on the market.

In response to this challenge, the group of experts in wood technology, design, information and communication technologies and robotics, from Poland, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Finland, will work on prototypes of intelligent furniture and create trends in furniture design and interior design elements adapted to the needs of seniors. The project is co-financed under the INTERREG Baltic Sea Region Program.
