University of Wrocław to launch the Center for Cognitive Research on Language and Communication

The Center for Cognitive Research on Language and Communication is launched at the University of Wrocław. This is a joint project of scientists from the Institutes of Polish and English Philology at the Wrocław University.

The aim of the Center is to conduct scientific research, organize methodological workshops, conduct didactic classes and dissemination activities in the field of cognitive linguistics, in particular: cognitive research on meaning, semantics and linguistic pragmatics; cognitive grammar; cognitive ethnolinguistics; cognitive research on bilingualism; assimilation of the second and inherited language; research on cognitive aspects of multimodal communication; cognitive corpus and statistic studies.

The scope of interests of the Center team will include cognitive research works from semantics, grammar, bilingualism and ethnolinguistics.
