The Warmian-Masurian Marshal’s Office allocated 300,000 PLN subsidies for the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn to continue the activity of the UWM Business Academy.

The Business Academy is an inter-faculty organization that teaches UWM students how to become entrepreneurs, manage teams of workers and how to use acquired knowledge commercially. It follows the model of leading Scandinavian institutions that best combine science with the business community. The Business Academy uses the best practices in developing student entrepreneurship and describes the ways to commercialize research results.

Lecturers include academic teachers from the USA, Italy and Romania, as well as business representatives – successful, management and business owners. In addition, students of the academy will receive the support of mentors and practitioners, advisers who will help them develop the basics of their own start-ups or prepare them to perform managerial functions. The Academy cooperates with the Olsztyński Science and Technology Park and the University Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer.
