Work of the artist from the Wrocław University of Technology presented at sculpture exhibition in Iran, Shiraz

06.04.2020

The “Search” work made of perforated sheet by Dr Eng. Piotr Wesołowski from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology is one of the eight metal sculptures that artists from around the world created during the First International Sculpture Symposium in Shiraz, in southern Iran.

The work is one of ten selected works by the jury from 214 applications submitted for the competition from the world. Four Iranian and six foreign artists’ works from Egypt, Malaysia, Chile, Italy, Poland and Belarus were selected for implementation (ultimately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, two artists did not arrive).

Sculptures presenting animal figures symbolize instincts that prompt us to react and encourage human activities. The sculptures are about four meters high and are the result of many hours of welding, sanding, painting and cleaning processes. They look best at night when the lighting installed under them extracts green and orange colors from the inside.
