Wroclaw University of Technology to run the project “Watchtower of the atmosphere”

27.04.2018

Researchers from the Wrocław University of Technology will develop procedures and a system for analyzing ash from domestic furnaces under the “Watchtower of the Atmosphere” project launched in Lower Silesia. Its purpose is to enable municipalities to co-finance projects related to the improvement of air quality.

The Voivodship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management allocates 500,000 PLN for the program. It will be used for co-financing the purchase of containers for ash sampling, measurement sensors for air testing and covering the costs of research carried out in laboratories – informs the technical university on the website.

The first task of scientists is to create procedures that cover the entire control process, from the moment of sampling, to the final report. Prof. Anna Janicka from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University emphasizes that it will answer the question what is actually burned in the boilers.
